The growing climate crisis across the world, has led to the development of strategic finance partnership from different organisations. After the cop28 we are having the African Climate Action Roundtable, taking place in Johannesburg South Africa from 7th May. The Climate Action will be a pivotal two-day event, meticulously designed to gather stakeholders from diverse sectors to address pressing challenges in Africa's climate action and food security landscape. Co-organised by prominent global actors and esteemed African institutions in the climate change and food security spaces, this roundtable seeks to drive collaboration, innovation, and coordination of efforts for sustainable change.

Tanzania becomes the first country in East Africa to have electric standard gauge railway, Tanzania's prime minister, Mr Kassim Majaliwa, flagged away the first trial run of a passenger train on the newly-completed Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) on April 21. With improved railway network, Import and Export trade will grow. The passenger and stock operations will start in July, operating from Dar Es Salaam to Dodoma.

More sports companies are venturing into supporting businesses across Africa. NBA Africa has launched a startup accelerator programme in Africa that focuses on the African startup companies.

The NBA Africa Startup Accelerator will run by technology incubator ALX Ventures, that aims to support African tech entrepreneurs in sports and creative industries with mentorship and capital.

Early-stage startups in Africa that develop solutions in event management and ticketing, youth development, AI, and digital marketing in the sports and creative industries can apply by May 31 2024. 

Ten selected startups will receive mentorship from NBA Africa, ALX and other stakeholders, which will provide guidance focusing on product development, business growth and go-to-market strategy.
